Founder and President
3 Year Road to Success
With the support of teachers and administration, I built this program from the ground up. I was delighted that I could share my knowledge, experience, and expertise with peers. I utilized my knowledge and skill to assist and prepare students for careers beyond high school. My role as elected president gave me the opportunity to contribute back to the CTE community. This organization impacts students, advancing their future beyond academic classes. The values of this organization promotes students’ ability to apply technical education to the workforce after high school or college.
Additive Manufacturing
3D Printing
This was the first competition I competed in as a SkillsUSA member. At the time I had hardly no understanding of the organization as a whole. The competition I was in was new to SkillsUSA the year I was in it. It was its first year so a competition wasn’t even designed yet. The regional “competition” was a job interview about the subject of 3D printing. The judge was so impressed with my presentation that he personally took me aside and told me that I would be going places, big places. I’ll never forget what that judge told me, he boosted my confidence in public speaking forever.

Teamwork and Efficiency
This competition, often referred to as AMT for short, is what I continued with after my year of being in Additive Manufacturing. AMT is a CNC milling competition. It involved a three man team and involved everything from design to a finished product. I was the CAM guy on the team who also acted as the middleman and the team leader. I would program the machine to cut the material to the desired part that was supposed to be manufactured. The competition took around 6 hours and time was always a concern.

Silver Medalist at State
I took first place at regionals and received a silver medal at State, losing only to the person who won gold at nationals.

National Champion
This was the chapters first time at Nationals. It was only our second year as a club and I lead our team to nationals. Considering it was our first time, we did exceptionally well, receiving the silver medal.

Gold Medalist at Nationals
The preceding year I lead my team to nationals again, except this time nothing but the gold medal would be satisfactory. I knew what I was doing a little better this time and was able to help my other teammates do their job extraordinarily fast and efficiently. The competition was always hard because we competed against trade schools with many more hours of experience than ourselves. During the debriefing of our national conference other teams had noticed our achievements in the competition and expressed their admiration. By the end of the meeting the judges and other teams made it obvious that we had won before it was even official.
