Physics Boat
Design, ingenuity, and Construction

CAD
Designing the Wireframe
For a physics class assignment, our team was instructed to make a boat out of limited paper and ½” strips of wood. Although it was a team effort, I alone thought of and developed the canoe shape and supporting outrigger. My designs were made as a concept and later became the “blueprints”. In this case, the digital designs were made in Solidworks (my favorite CAD program).

Blueprints
Construction
The blueprints were created to guide my team on how to construct this canoe model. The CAD designs and my expertise in construction guided my team to a very successful launch. In view of my water polo background, I was elected to pilot and race our vessel. Our boat beat the schools all-time standing record in the annual race across the pool.
