My education in school has provided me with technical tools and knowledge that I have applied to personal endeavors. My architectural abilities guided a family project to construct a barn. Although a family project, I completed all of the technical designs. Using Autocad, I could brainstorm, design and evaluate the structure to full comprehension. These CAD designs proved crucial to the project as a whole. Not only did they provide “blueprints” to begin the project but eliminated possible errors in its construction. Designing the barn also contributed to my comprehension, improving our construction efficiency.

The barn was constructed as a team (my Dad, my brother and myself), utilizing basic raw lumber. I directed the project while also physically building it. Constructing this barn illustrates my ability to simultaneously design and apply the hands-on work required.
